Gwen has a lot of New York connections--her Aunt Bess and her husband had spent summers on Long Island till a few years before; and two young cousins live in Westchester--but there's nary a mention of her Aunt Kathy and Uncle John Martin, who also live on Long Island (Department Store Nurse). In Visiting Nurse, however, Gwen doesn't seem to know anyone in New York except the family of an old schoolmate.
