Her patient, Matthew Jeffrey, is a middle-aged writer recuperating from tuberculosis at Rainbow Lake Lodge. Cherry uncovers the secret animus that Matthew's secretary, Dale, bears him; narrowly prevents a tragedy; and reunites a pair of star-crossed lovers.
