"Frontier Week," by Helen Wells, a Cherry Ames story
At the Trever ranch in Los Alamos, Texas, Cherry nurses thirteen-year-old Betty Lou Trever back to health. But Cherry soon realizes that Betty Lou's real problem is her jealousy of the new woman in her widowed father's life, and her fear of being displaced in his affections. During the annual cowboy festival, Cherry helps Betty Lou learn to accept changes.

Cherry gets to visit with old Spencer friends Vivian Warren and Marie Swift, who are working as nurses in a Texas hospital.

"Chupo," by Jane Hynam

"Snowbound," by Helen Wells, a Cherry Ames story
Cherry and Gwen Jones are caught in a freak spring snowstorm as they motor through the Great Smoky Mountains. When they and other snowbound travelers are rescued and lodged temporarily at a cozy farmhouse, the two nurses provide first aid to their companions--among whom may be a band of desperate criminals.

Cherry and Gwen don't seem to have much luck when traveling together; they ended up in a flood when they tried to visit the Berkshires ("Flood Train").
